Kelley School of Business - Indianapolis Investment Club

The Undergraduate Investment Club at the Kelley School of Business - Indianapolis offers a unique experience for undergraduate students interested in learning more about the investment industry. Coupled with our academic program, we strive to equip students with the skills and relevant experience needed to land a job in the extremely competitive investment industry.

We are now proud to say that we offer the rare undergraduate experience of managing a "live" portfolio. This means, students will be able to manage real money! This is a major part of the relevant experience we offer students. Not only do you gain the much needed skill sets of how to properly manage a portfolio and prepare a stock analysis, but you are also able to count this as an internship!

What makes this organization so unique is our partnership with Heifer International. Heifer International provides livestock to poor families in developing nations to use for farming, food production, an fertilization. It also teaches animal husbandry and skills flexible and sustainable rural farming. The idea: Self-sufficiency is a better long-term solution than handouts for fighting hunger. Heifer's passing on the Gift program requires recipients to share the offspring of their animals as well as resources and skills with other farmers, creating an ever-expanding network of self-reliance. Our intent is for students to not only understand how to manage money, but to also understand the impact of philanthropy. It is part of our overarching goal of producing well rounded business students.

Other opportunities we offer members are:

  • Scholarship opportunities.
  • Training for the CFA (Chartered Financial Analysis). The CFA is an industry standard for those that seek a job in the investment industry.
  • A chance to be mentored by professionals and professors during entire undergraduate career.
  • Chance to present your stock analysis in front of a group of professionals. This is usually something only MBA students get the chance to do and is a great way to focus your ability to properly analyze stocks
  • Semester trips to Chicago financial institutions.
